Focus on PYRAMID™ Risk Management Risk Assessment Reports
This is the third article in our series of articles relating to PYRAMID™ Risk Management System reports which focuses on risk assessment reports. The previous articles covered fire safety and audit reports. This article uses the term “released” which is a PYRAMID™ term to define a risk assessment that is live and in production. Please see the first article in this series for a full definition. The Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) description of a risk assessment can be found here
The PYRAMID™ system has a whole module dedicated to completing and reviewing risk assessments. As the risk assessments are electronic it makes the whole process more efficient, environmentally friendly and tracking, monitoring and reporting on risk assessment compliance can be automated.
The system comes preloaded with a set of risk assessment templates for different industries e.g. retail, restaurants, office and also translated versions that can be assigned to an organisation and then used at locations within the organisation. The templates already contain information to act as a reference to completing the risk assessment which speeds up the entire process for our customers and risk assessors.

Risk Assessment Report
Once a risk assessment has been completed on the system it can be released. Releasing the risk assessment generates a report that contains the fields listed below. The report is sent via email in HTML format along with a PDF version that is attached to the required location and organisation contacts. The report also contains a “Review Record” section which tracks who has reviewed the risk assessment.
As an example of how easy it is to review a risk assessment using the PYRAMID™ system, you can choose to clone a released risk assessment then update the fields that are listed below (which contain all the information from the previous risk assessment) and then release the latest version. All ready for when the RA needs reviewing again.
- Overview of the risk assessment
- Risk Analysis No Action taken on Risk Assessment Matrix
- Risk Analysis With Action taken on Risk Assessment Matrix
- What are the hazards?
- Who might be harmed?
- How might they be harmed?
- What are we already doing? (Action we are taking)
- Comments
- Recommendations
- Remedial Actions
- Confirmation if all problems identified have been resolved
- Photo uploads to support the risk assessment
Risk Assessment Compliance Report
One of the most useful features for our consultants, risk assessors and customers are the compliance trends. The compliance trends are available for all sections of the PYRAMID™ system including the risk assessments.
From the risk assessment compliance report you can see an overview of risk assessments that have taken place (or not) within your whole organisation. You can see where there is a high, medium, low, no risk or where no risk assessment exists for a particular location. You can also see at a glance where issues have been identified and where unresolved issues are. This information is all on a single page in a table view and when selecting a location you can drill down into the details of the particular risk assessment.
Risk Assessment Reminders
The PYRAMID™ system is designed for sending reminders of non-compliance with health and safety requirements and the risk assessment have their automated reminders too. Email reports can be generated to warn of unreleased risk assessments and any outstanding actions needing remedial actions.
Risk Assessment Directory
For the convenience of seeing at a glance or for printing out for reference, a risk assessment directory option is available in PYRAMID™. This report displays a list all the risk assessments that are live at a location with the risk assessment reference, the risk assessment name, the date of the risk assessment and the risk analysis before and after action has been taken.
View All Live Risk Assessments
Another convenience option for our users if the option to display all live risk assessment in a pop-up window so they can be referenced or printed out for record keeping.
International Risk Assessments
As risk assessment regulations can vary from country to country the PYRAMID™ system can generate the necessary reports to stay compliant wherever your organisation may be located in the world. For example, in Italy a “Documento di Valutazione dei Rischi – ai sensi degli artt. 17, 28, 29 del D.Lgs. 81/08 e s.m.i” (Risk Assessment Document – according to Artt. 17,28,29 of Legislative Decree n. 81 of 2008) is required and in France a “Document Unique d’Évaluation des Risques” (Risk Assessment Document).
We can develop reports to work with risk assessment data on the system to meet any local law requirements. These reports can be generated at a click of a button for a very efficient experience.
Weekly Health and Safety Checks
When completing your weekly health and safety checks also known as routine inspections and routine checks on the system (weekly safety check reports will be another article for this series of blog posts) reminders are shown to the user on which risk assessments are due for review and which risk assessment reviews may have been missed from previous weeks (please see the section in this article about how easy it is to review risk assessment using the system).
Reports generated by the system can be developed to your specific needs. If you are interested in what the system has to offer or need more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
